The Cognitive Picture Behind What You're Observing

Neuropsychological Evaluations for Pediatricians & Physicians in New York City

You see the whole child. You notice the attention difficulties, the developmental concerns, and the gap between ability and performance. You may have already diagnosed ADHD or flagged a developmental delay — but your patients and their families need more than a diagnosis. They need to understand exactly how that child's brain is working.

That's where we come in.

Dr. KC Bugg & Associates provides comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations that give you and your colleagues the detailed cognitive picture that clinical observation and brief screening tools can't fully capture.

Wht Sets Us Apart

Why Pediatricians & Physicians Refer to Us

We give you something to work with. Our reports are detailed, clearly written, and include specific diagnostic impressions and recommendations that inform treatment and care planning — not just school documentation.

We handle the full diagnostic range. ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, twice-exceptional profiles, intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, and adult cognitive concerns — our team has the breadth to handle whatever your patients bring.

We communicate directly with you. With family authorization we are happy to speak with you directly about findings — particularly when our results have implications for your clinical management of the patient.

We are efficient. We know your patients are waiting. We move quickly without compromising thoroughness.

We have two NYC locations. Flatiron District and Astoria, Queens — accessible to patients across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and beyond.

What We Offer Pediatricians & Physicians

Comprehensive Cognitive Profiling Our evaluations examine attention, memory, executive functioning, language, processing speed, academic skills, and social-emotional development in depth. The result is a detailed cognitive profile that goes well beyond what a screening instrument or brief office assessment can provide — giving you and your colleagues a fuller clinical picture to work with.

Diagnostic Clarity for Complex Presentations When a patient's presentation is ambiguous — when ADHD, anxiety, learning disabilities, and developmental factors overlap in ways that are difficult to untangle — a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation clarifies the picture. We identify what's driving what, and document it clearly.

Actionable Recommendations Our reports don't just diagnose — they recommend. Every evaluation concludes with specific, practical recommendations for school supports, accommodations, therapeutic interventions, and follow-up services. Families leave with a clear path forward, not just a label.

Direct Communication with Referring Providers With the family's written authorization, we are happy to communicate directly with referring physicians about our findings — before or after the report is finalized. If our findings have implications for medication management, treatment planning, or further medical workup, we will flag them clearly.

Timely Turnaround We understand that your patients and their families are often waiting on evaluation results before next steps can move forward. We complete evaluations efficiently and deliver reports within two to three weeks of the final testing session.

Adult ADHD & Neuropsychological Testing

Many adults discover in their 20s, 30s, or beyond that they're neurodivergent—ADHD, autistic, or have learning differences that explain lifelong experiences of thinking and processing differently. Our evaluations provide diagnostic clarity and access to accommodations that honor how your brain works.

We offer two types of adult ADHD evaluations:
Comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluation (8 hours)

Full assessment for workplace accommodations, professional exam documentation, or comprehensive diagnostic clarity. Includes complete cognitive and achievement testing, attention and executive function measures, and detailed written report.

Abbreviated ADHD Testing (2 hours)

Focused evaluation for treatment planning and medication management. Includes clinical interview, ADHD rating scales, and diagnostic report with treatment recommendations. Not appropriate for accommodation requests.

Which evaluation is right for you?

We'll help you determine this during your free consultation.

We also evaluate adults for:

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis

Workplace accommodations (ADA)

Executive functioning differences

Learning differences affecting work or graduate school

Memory and cognitive concerns

Diagnostic clarity for treatment planning

Common reasons adults seek evaluation:

💭 "I've always struggled with organization and focus, but thought everyone did."
💭 "I'm successful, but everything takes me twice as long as it should."

💭 "My child was just diagnosed with ADHD, and I see myself in the symptoms."

💭 "I've always felt different socially, and recently learned about autism in adults."

When to Refer to Us

  • ADHD diagnosis confirmed but school is not providing adequate support.

  • Developmental concerns that warrant a full cognitive workup.

  • Learning difficulties that don't fit neatly into a single diagnosis.

  • Autism spectrum concerns requiring comprehensive evaluation.

  • Significant gap between a child's apparent ability and academic performance.

  • Patient has an existing diagnosis but treatment response has been inconsistent.

  • Family needs documentation for school accommodations or IEP/504

  • Twice-exceptional profile — gifted with co-occurring learning or attentional difficulties.

  • Executive functioning difficulties affecting daily life and academic performance.

  • Adult patients with longstanding attention, memory, or cognitive concerns

  • Pre-medication evaluation when comprehensive baseline data would inform treatment.

  • Patient or family seeking diagnostic clarity before pursuing further intervention.

Not just Pediatric

We Evaluate Adults Too

  • Many of your adult patients may be living with undiagnosed ADHD, learning disabilities, or cognitive difficulties that have never been formally evaluated. We see adults across the lifespan — from college students to working professionals — and provide the same comprehensive evaluation process we bring to pediatric cases.

  • If an adult patient would benefit from diagnostic clarity, workplace accommodations documentation, or a fuller understanding of their cognitive profile, we can help.
