WHAT THIS EVALUATION IS — AND ISN'T

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

What This Evaluation Is — and What It Isn't

This evaluation is appropriate for:

  • Adults with a suspected or prior diagnosis who want current, comprehensive documentation

  • Adults whose treating providers have requested formal diagnostic documentation before initiating or adjusting medication

  • Adults who want to understand their cognitive profile and get clear recommendations for managing ADHD in daily life

This evaluation is NOT appropriate for:

A NOTE ON LATE DIAGNOSIS

YOU'RE NOT ALONE
ADHD Looks Different in Adults — Especially Women

ADHD was historically identified in hyperactive boys. The criteria, the research, and the clinical intuitions of an entire generation of clinicians were shaped by that population. As a result, many adults — and particularly many women — spent their entire childhoods and early adulthoods undiagnosed

Adult ADHD often looks less like hyperactivity and more like chronic overwhelm, emotional exhaustion, difficulty sustaining effort on low-interest tasks, and a persistent gap between what you know you're capable of and what you're actually producing. It can look like anxiety. It can look like depression. It can look like a character flaw.

It isn't.

If you've spent years wondering whether something was wrong with you — or were told that you were bright but just not trying hard enough — a formal evaluation can finally give you a framework for understanding your own experience. That clarity, for many people, is itself transformative.

AFTER THE EVALUATION

NEXT STEPS

What Happens After Your Evaluation

Your written report and results review give you a complete picture of your diagnosis and a clear set of recommendations. From there, next steps typically include one or more of the following:

Medication evaluation — if medication is appropriate, your report provides the documentation your prescribing provider needs to make informed decisions about type, dosage, and monitoring.

Therapy and coaching — ADHD responds well to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and executive functioning coaching. Our recommendations will be specific to your profile.

Workplace or academic strategies — we provide practical, individualized recommendations for managing ADHD in your specific work or school environment.

Accommodations documentation — if after your evaluation you determine that you need documentation for workplace or academic accommodations, we can discuss whether additional evaluation is needed.

We don't diagnose and disappear. We're available to answer follow-up questions as you navigate the process.

Adult ADHD & Neuropsychological Testing

Many adults discover in their 20s, 30s, or beyond that they're neurodivergent—ADHD, autistic, or have learning differences that explain lifelong experiences of thinking and processing differently. Our evaluations provide diagnostic clarity and access to accommodations that honor how your brain works.

We offer two types of adult ADHD evaluations:
Comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluation (8 hours)

Full assessment for workplace accommodations, professional exam documentation, or comprehensive diagnostic clarity. Includes complete cognitive and achievement testing, attention and executive function measures, and detailed written report.

Abbreviated ADHD Testing (2 hours)

Focused evaluation for treatment planning and medication management. Includes clinical interview, ADHD rating scales, and diagnostic report with treatment recommendations. Not appropriate for accommodation requests.

Which evaluation is right for you?

We'll help you determine this during your free consultation.

We also evaluate adults for:

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis

Workplace accommodations (ADA)

Executive functioning differences

Learning differences affecting work or graduate school

Memory and cognitive concerns

Diagnostic clarity for treatment planning

Common reasons adults seek evaluation:

💭 "I've always struggled with organization and focus, but thought everyone did."
💭 "I'm successful, but everything takes me twice as long as it should."

💭 "My child was just diagnosed with ADHD, and I see myself in the symptoms."

💭 "I've always felt different socially, and recently learned about autism in adults."

WHAT THE EVALUATION INVOLVES

WHAT TO EXPECT

A Focused, Two-Hour Evaluation

Our adult ADHD evaluation is a focused two-hour assessment designed specifically for diagnostic clarity and treatment planning. It is not a brief online questionnaire or a checklist — it is a clinically rigorous evaluation conducted by a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience.

What the evaluation includes:

Clinical Interview
We begin with a thorough structured interview covering your current symptoms, developmental and academic history, occupational functioning, relationships, and any prior diagnoses or treatment. Understanding the full picture of how ADHD — or something else — has shaped your life is essential to an accurate diagnosis.

Standardized Rating Scales
You'll complete validated ADHD rating scales that assess symptom frequency and severity across multiple domains. These provide objective, norm-referenced data to complement the clinical interview.

Symptom Review & Differential Diagnosis
ADHD shares significant symptom overlap with anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep disorders, and other conditions. Part of our evaluation specifically examines what else might be contributing to your experience — because an accurate diagnosis matters more than a fast one.

Written Report
You'll receive a comprehensive written diagnostic report documenting our findings, your diagnosis, and specific recommendations for treatment, accommodations, and next steps.

Results Review
Every evaluation concludes with a brief results review where we walk you through the findings and help you understand what comes next.
